Kaide Daimoku Odori (Dance)
At the end of Kamakura Period, when Nichizou Shounin was preaching in Kaide, Kamitsuji Saburou Shiro tried to prepare the lunch for Nichizou Shounin.
Suddenly the odaimoku (topics - Namumyou Houren Gekkyou) appeared in the smoke.
It is said that all the villagers who experienced the phenomenon gathered at Saburo Shiro's house, played the drum in the garden, danced with sugekasa (round hat umbrella) and had a good time.
This is the origin of 'Kaide Daimoku' which is designated as an intangible cultural asset in Kyoto Prefecture.
In 'Sekitou Temple' which was built by Nichizou Shounin, Kadei Daimoku Dance is performed on the 3rd of May every year.
