The Cherry Blossom Festival
The cherry tree is a symbol of Muko City and a festival is held on the Saturday and Sunday at the beginning of April every year when the trees come into bloom.
The festival takes place in the approaches to, and in the precinct of Muko Shrine under the blooming cherry trees.
During the festival there are traditional blessings at the shrine, tea ceremonies, exhibitions of flower arrangement and concerts of traditional Japanese music played on the Koto and Japanese drum.
