The Nagaokakyu Tuiji used be the surrounding wall of the Nagaokakyu, and was designated as a National historic site in 1981. The ruins are located on a line due south from Nagaokakyu dairi naikaku tuiji kairouato. This fact is thought by archaeologists to be proof that building in Nagaokakyo has been a continuous process since ancient times.
